Why torture to study? Will it accomplish your ultimate goals? Chopping away at the life of another, will it really help you better understand yours? How could torturing another animal help you better understand the kind of animal you are? When will we realize that torture isn’t science, but it’s been passed off as such for centuries under the guise of racism, sexism, classism, speciesism? It’s time to stop the torture and murder of people (the animals confined in labs) who want to live, using the excuse of helping other people (the animals confined in labs)

All animals deserve consideration. Animals have an interest in staying alive. Therefore animal agriculture and its factory farms, who package disease along with the tortured body of someone who wanted to live, need to be abolished. The industrialized, global meat (murder) industry, is extremely harmful to animals and the environment. COVID-19 began in the cages of a factory farm created to torture and kill animals. In order to mitigate the murder of animals, and current/future pandemics and natural disasters, we need to abolish the animal agriculture industry.

Teachers are people. I fear the American government and educational infrastructure has forgotten, or rather has never, believed that. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated existing frameworks in a capitalist empire that kills working class people. Rent, bills, and the general idea of paying to survive have been killing people for more than 400 years. The public education system’s oppressive practices of unmanageable and illegal class sizes, racist standardized test and tracking procedures, and segregationist policy, all existed before the pandemic.
